Don't bother with other keyring openers. This guy is made of very heavy gauge stainless, and doesn't seem to have any sign of wear after a few months of use. It fits in perfectly on a keyring.
The only thing that would make this better is to get rid of the serrations on the top - they are supposed to help open boxes but a regular key works better for starting a tear in tape.
Having struggled with other key ring openers, I was a bit apprehensive about the Tiger's Tooth opener. But given that it is made in the U.S., I was willing to give it a try. I'm glad I did because I love this opener! Back in college, I chipped a tooth opening a beer bottle with my teeth, so for years I kept one of those round metal bottle openers on my keychain. Wanting something smaller, I bought a Tiger's Tooth a while back and was half worried I would forget all about it. But the striking design works as a constant reminder, so a few days ago when some friends and I were out and in need of a handy opener, I was delighted because I remembered my Tiger's Tooth. I whipped it out and quickly and easily opened everyone's bottles. I highly recommend this opener for anyone who is looking to trade a heavy, bulky opener for something that's discreet but still reliable. It works great!
