I bought this for my husband for christmas. It's incredibly cute. The only problem I had with it was it was painted a very bright shade of gold. Because of that it looked kind of cheap. Since it IS cast iron, my husband took it outside, stripped the paint off, and it looked great! It had a few sharp edges on the back too, so we filed those down a bit so they wouldn't gouge the walls. It is now happily sticking it's tongue out in my kitchen.
Ordered this a few days ago, got it this morning. Just used it to pop my first beer of the day. At first I thought I heard a little glass grinding sound, thought the tip of the bottle might break, but wow! There's a really satisfying sound that this opener makes when the cap pops off. Hard to describe, butu it makes me want to open up all the beers in the fridge immediately, it's really that cool.
Get one, you'll see! The picture looks a little bit cooler than what I've got here next to me, what with the black around the eyes and in the crevices, etc. Maybe it'll age well. Doesn't affect my giving it 5 stars.
